A Bit About Us

     In 2006, myself (Peter) and my wife Linda rehomed our first parrot. His name was Mango and he is a Hahn's macaw. We fell in love with him and he quickly took over the house with his charm and up-tempo life.

     Over the years, we have rehomed more parrots as they found their way to us for one reason or another.

     We have always bought the food for our flock at Healthy Bird which was founded by Joanne Cormier in 2003. We came to know Jo quite well by being a good client and by visiting the store in Grand Barachois NB on numerous occasions. When Jo asked us if we were interested in buying Healthy Bird, it didn't take long to decide that Healthy Bird would be a good fit in our lives. After being in the restaurant business for most of our lives, Healthy Bird is a breath of fresh air. So we re-located the store to our home in Wellington NS.

     Linda and I are proud owners of a business that caters to a group of clients that also share our passion for companion birds of all types. We are also proud of our flock of four Hahn's macaws ( Mango, Emma, Akoko and Chloe), a Congo African Grey (Mambo), a Timneh African Grey( Nyka) and a Blue and Gold Macaw (Stanley)
