Oh man folks are we behind or are we behind!  We have had so much going on, we dont’ know where to begin! 

Let’s see the month of July and early August has hosted our Customer Appreciation Day, saw two new adorable birdie arrivals at our house, company from almost all ends of the province, family birthdays and retirements, major store renovations and LOTS of new inventory.

So the question is where do we start!  Well let’s start with Customer Appreciation Day. 

Thank you to all who attended.  A good time was had by all, with LOTS of prices, lots of food and snacks and great company.  If anyone is missing a sweater and an umbrella, please give us a call.  We seem to have an extra of each here now!  We do have pictures to get up for you sometime this month!

Cheese ball

1 envelope of Hidden Valley Ranch dressing

1 8 ounce package of creme cheese

1/2 cup or so of shredded cheese

Mix all together  and form into ball.  Puree 1/4 cup of walnuts and roll ball into walnuts.  Best made 3-4 hous ahead of serving time. Can’t get any easier than this!

Our summer has been so “behind” poor Louis who’s birthday was in June and his retirement from government after 36 years was also “supposed” to be celebrated the same month.  Louis comes from a large close knit family so we felt we almost had to have 2 celebrations.  One for family and one for friends.  After many cancellations, we hosted the family gathering the latter part of July and the friends gathering at our house early August!  The friends gathering was hosted just in time as two days after the fact he was scheduled with first meeting for his new position.  Retirement lasted a month, not even long enough to get property chores out of the way.

Of course we were no help as we asked for a new wall of shelving in the store.  Well one wall led to another, and then another, and well then you may as well do all four walls!  Nice pine shelving now matches the walls.  What a massive job that was and is still not 100%.  Making the shelves, moving out the old and in with the new, was the easy part.  With the amount of stock we have, restructuring and organizing is a HUGE job.  Every product now has a final resting spot, but lots of shelves have still to be organized.  If you can imagine the same time this new shelving project was underway, we had two massive shipments of new inventory! 

We now have in stock Wingdow seats, Acrylic Carriers, Featherbrite cage lighting, Featherbrite swag lamps, toys, perches, supplements, eggfood, list is endless.  Let’s forgo the “News” for a bit and get started on posting some pictures of new inventory in stock and then move on over and get it on the catalog for  you.

But before we move onto new product, let’s remind everyone about the Eastern Canada Avian Association Annual Gala this weekend.  Mapleton Lodge August 22 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Healthy Bird will be in attendance so if you are attending and have anything of interest you wish to see from our line of inventory, PLEASE email and ask us to bring along.  You can read more about the day on the website at www.ecavianassociation.com
